Sweetwater Gypsies Pizza (named for the local creek running through the desert) is the partnership of Monica Marty and Beth Peisner, Midwest transplants who were drawn to the west for its amazing beauty and opportunities for recreation.  Shortly after meeting, they discovered a mutual passion for cooking, gardening, and a multitude of other crafty projects. 

 

One such project led them to construct by hand an earthen wood-fired oven made out of old adobe bricks in the backyard.  It only took a few pizzas out of this oven to get them daydreaming about being able to take this idea on the road.  They purchased their first mobile pizza oven The Fire Within (based in Boulder, CO) and Sweetwater Gypsies Pizza was born! With the encouragement and support of friends and family they rolled their new baby home in May 2010.

 

Over the last 14 years they have truly enjoyed the opportunity to combine all the things they love; being outside, making amazing food, traveling, and enjoying the new friends they make along the way!

 

In 2016, Monica and Beth enlarged the business and began providing amazing pizza from 2 different locations:  Dolores, Colorado and Teasdale, Utah.

In 2024, Monica purchased an enclosed mobile pizza oven and food truck, enabling us to bring pizza to you in even more locations!
